There's No Place Like Home!

Its been a little while since I have posted here, but I have been away! Gregory and I took William and Eli to Florida to visit their Grampie and Grammie who vacation there in the early spring. It was amazing! We have been there before, but I forget how much warmer it is than here in the Maritimes........but with that said, there is no place like home! We were giddy arriving back to the Bay yesterday....fog and all! The boys, who were exhausted, perked up with the arrival of nine friends welcoming them home!!

While in Fla. we hung out at the pool and the beach mostly, laughing constantly at Eli and receiving lessons from William on all subjects imaginable. We spent one day at Busch Gardens and had a blast...if you ever go...Rhino Rally is great, but we enjoy the water and the warmth of the sun best of all, its very refreshing and energizing (even when the water is the ocean and includes a shark about 20 yards away)! Yup, Gregory and I were leisurely shelling and all of a sudden we spot it....a shark looking for a meal, thankfully it found a fish and not US!

Florida is a state of great beauty. Palm trees, pelicans, dolphins, geckos, white sand and people of all shapes, sizes and colours. William and Eli spotted every Chinese girl and imagined the day when we would be enjoying the beach with our "Junebug", then on the way home they talked about Mommy and Daddy arriving at the airport with their baby sister and how excited they'll be. As I have said before, we are already madly in love with our baby...whoever she will be, one thing we know for sure, is that she has already filled our hearts so wherever we go, we take her along!

James 1:4

Well today I was speaking at our church's Hope Mission, a gathering place for the neighbourhood that includes coffee, fellowship, worship, a devotional time and then a warm, home cooked meal for lunch. It is amazing to see the way folks come together each week for this ministry and how those served are so faithful. Some of these people have been though so much in their lives and have come out stronger and some are still on a rocky path, so I had chosen today to talk about James 1:4 which says:

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

This verse came to me during my sleep one night, after I had been fervently praying about our adoption. I was disheartened at the loooonnng wait ahead of us and thought maybe God has other plans. So in my prayer I asked God to speak to me and tell me if we were on the right path and if we were following His will. His response was for us to persevere and wait on Him and His time, and we would lack in nothing. Keep on the road to our baby awaiting in China. We are at peace with the wait and know that we are on the right path. God is good!

The folks at the mission we pleased (I hope) with my devotional and it was such a great time to share our story.
